Normally, when composing songs, I just let myself wander musically and develop tunes organically. With The Outlaw Ocean Music Project, I wanted every sound to be as intentional and focused as Ian’s reporting. Once I was able to organize my thoughts and emotions, everything came together quite naturally to create a body of work that I hope will make listeners understand being comfortable in their own isolation, just like many of the people on The Outlaw Ocean must.
